CSC Optimist Championships Gold Fleet – Day 2

Day 2 of the Gold Fleet Championships blessed the sailors with 4 races, despite the consistently shifting winds due to the conflicting weather systems. From a light westerly in race 1 to a fresh north-easterly in race 3, race organisers spent the entire day chasing winds to secure the much needed 4 races.

Muhammad Raihan Bin Mohd Airudin did well to stretch his lead at the top, mastering the everchanging conditions to consistently place in the top 10 today. He now sits a comfortable 7 points ahead of 2nd placed Ethan Teo Yuan Xin, who finished with his first bullet for the regatta in race 6. Josiah Tan completes the top 3 on 34 points. Top girl currently is Radiance Koh, who places 5th after 6 races, after securing top 5 finishes in races 4 to 6. CSC Sailor Antonin Radue slipped from 6th to 13th after an erratic showing today, struggling to grasp the conditions on the various courses.

We’re halfway through the championships – good luck to all sailors on the remaining days!
