CSC Optimist Championships Day 3 Gold Fleet (Blue)

Fickle winds continue to plague the Regatta, as the Race Committee struggled to position the course suitably in the prevailing conditions. Despite a north-easterly arriving punctually, the breeze could not maintain in strength and direction, eventually fizzling out later in the day.

All things considered, the RC made a commendable effort to complete 2 races, effectively concluding the campaign for sailors in the Blue Group. The top 3 results remain largely unchanged, with leader Nadine Sng (SGP 4669) surviving a strong push from fierce rival Isaac Goh (SGP 3153) to top the group with 8 points. Despite also scoring 8 points from 5 races, Isaac lost the tie-breaker to Nadine’s 2nd place finish in race 2, as he settled for first runner-up. Kenan Tan (SGP 112) could not emulate the form he had last year, scoring a 5th and 2nd in Race 4 and 5 to conclude his campaign with 14 points and second runner-up in the blue group.

Kudos to siblings and CSC sailors Ariel (SGP 707) and Elliot Chang (SGP 700), finishing in 10th and 11th respectively. Together with Cheryl (744) and Ikuto (SGP 712) who are racing today – We hope to see more CSC sailors join them to race in the Gold fleet next year!

After today’s Yellow group racing, the results for both groups will be combined into 1 table to tabulate the overall Gold Fleet winners across both groups. Good luck to all sailors for the final day of racing!
