Sunday Series III 2025 - Race 4 | Changi Sailing Club

We’re nearing the end of the season!
The penultimate race of the Sunday Series III took place on 23 November, sailed in a refreshing westerly breeze working against a challenging outgoing tide. And as is often the case with great westerlies, the race team took full advantage—sending sailors westward for long, tactical beats and rewarding runs along the East Johor Straits.

The fleet for Race 4 was small but competitive, with seven boats across three classes, all closely matched and giving spectators a treat with their tight maneuvers around the course.

In the Multihull Class, Miss Visayan and Kaze left everything on the water, both navigating superbly with Miss Visayan completing the Pennant 5 course just three minutes ahead of her rival. Regulars like Bula and Dot Dot Dot (and others from the growing Multihull fleet) truly missed out on the spectacular conditions—perfect weather for Trimarans.
Miss Visayan’s win secures pole position heading into the final race on 7 December, with Kaze only one point behind.

A diverse trio—Waka Tere, Southern Light, and Remington—represented the PY fleet. The largest of the three has delivered strong performances in recent weeks, but this time missed the podium… perhaps the absence of a spinnaker on the downwind legs made the difference?

The real battle was between the not-so-Moody 376 and a Nelson 10. Southern Light excelled in the prevailing conditions, taking the win by a comfortable five-minute margin over Kurt and team on Waka Tere.

In the overall Series III standings, Waka Tere leads the fleet with 8 points, while Birregurra, Southern Light, and Remington are locked in a tight fight for the remaining two podium places in the final race.

It was a clash of the Js, with the indomitable Jellico once again setting the benchmark in the IRC Class. Despite their best efforts, Adona struggled to extend her lead over the smaller but highly optimized Jellico. With three bullets from four races, Jellico’s victory in Sunday Series III is now virtually assured.
