CSC Optimist Championships (Silver Fleet) 2026 – Day 2

Day 2 of the CSC Optimist Championships delivered another thrilling round of racing for the Silver Fleet, with the North East Monsoon once again providing a steady and reliable breeze. The final three races were completed with minimal hiccups, thanks to the ever-dependable CRO Ryan Kwok and his experienced team of officials and volunteers.

What caught many observers off guard, however, was the sheer number of protests arising from the day’s racing — seven in total. Such a volume is almost unheard of in Silver Fleet competition, making it an unexpectedly busy day for Jury Chairman Selvam and his panel.

The protest hearings pushed the awards presentation back by nearly two hours, but once proceedings concluded, the results revealed a remarkable clean sweep — an all-girl podium finish.

Chloe Ariane Pitsilis (SGP 708) held firm at the top and sealed a commanding overall victory, adding another bullet in Race 6 to finish the series seven points clear of her closest challenger, Clara Ng (SGP 3739). Clara put up a strong and consistent performance, fending off Cyra Cama (29) with two third-place finishes to secure second overall on 27 points.

Cyra delivered one of the standout comeback stories of the regatta. After placing 13th in Race 5, she bounced back impressively with two consecutive second-place finishes to clinch a well-deserved third place overall.

Chloe was joined by eleven teammates from the CSC contingent, with special mentions to Arun for finishing 8th overall, and Hillary for placing 2nd in the Under-8 category. It was heartening to see CSC sailors perform strongly on home waters.

We also extend our sincere thanks to the race officials, coaches, support staff, Jury Chairman Selvam and his panel for their tireless work over the weekend, and Xtreme Sailing Products for their continued annual support through prize sponsorship.

Congratulations to all Silver Fleet sailors. Attention now turns to next weekend’s Gold Fleet showdown.

See you on 24–25 January as Singapore’s top Optimist sailors take on the East Johor Straits under the prevailing NE Monsoon.
