Sailing Under the Bright Moon: A Night to Remember at Changi Sailing Club!

As the full moon rose to its peak, sailors, members and families of Changi Sailing Club gathered for a unique celebration — a night sail to celebrate the Autumn Mooncake Festival.

For many, it was their first time navigating under the stars, sailors decorated their boats with parents helping them, great support to showcase their best dressed up boat. Adorned with bright lights drifted out into the open water, their reflections dancing alongside the moonlight. The pontoon, usually quiet in the day, transformed into bright and glowing in the dark.

As night fell deeper, the moon, said to be at its brightest and fullest of the year, seemed to follow every vessel — a silent companion watching over the small flotilla. Laughter echoed across the water, children laughing and sharing stories how fun to have this experience for the first time. It was all good comments and already asking for the next one.

As the boats slowly returned to the shore, hearts were full, and the moon still shone high. The sailors were welcomed with great taste barbeque food and drinks which prepared by kind hearted parents and families.
The first night sail to mark the Mooncake Festival had left an impression — not just as a seasonal event, but as a new tradition in the making.

We would like to thanks all sailors that joined us on water, the parents support whether on water or on land, the best sailing community! The CSC staff for ensuring everyone’s safety on water, our General Manager, Choy Yi Hong for allowing us to execute this memorable event for kids and adults. Mr Ad Smit, CSC Social Secretary for giving out the prizes for “Best Dressed Up” boats – Sumire Kogut, Petri Tuomola & family and Ellouan and Louella Gay, great job guys!
