CSC Twilight Series III 2025- Race 4
Whatever winds that were blowing through the East Johor Straits during the week, just simply didn’t show. Boats were left to manoeuvre in the lightest of breeze at the start.
The PY division dominated in the numbers game with 8 boats participating, the IRC had one and we had two each for the tri and beach catamarans. We are aware that some of the other regulars are either away or having their boats on annual maintenance.
The winds did freshen a bit as boats were making their way towards Changi Buoy. However, the leg from Changi to Squance was rather tricky as the track brought sailors through various wind conditions. As if the light breeze weren’t frustrating enough, it also came from various directions at different parts of the course.
Well, this is sailing at Changi, you can never really know what’s coming. Having said that, credit must go to sailors at CSC for our patience, we take every condition in our stride. After corrected time, the results are as follows:
Beach catamaran: 1st Scott McCook, Nacra 15
Trimaran: 1st Gary Curtis, Ms Visayan
IRC: 1st Paul Kendall, Jong Dee
PY: 1st Andre Chew, Notus / 2nd Edwin Low, Skybird / 3rd Maarten De Kroon
Others participants; Kellie Twigge (Twisted Creature); Xavier Glenard (Kaze): Kurt Metzger (Waka Tere); Ben Smawfield (Nevis); Manav Krishan(First Light); James Sharpe (Southern Light); Paul Sneesby (Remington).
