CSC Sunday Series II 2026 – Race 3
We’re back! Amidst the sweltering September heat, nine boats took to the start line for a classic Sunday Series routine — sailing to Tekong Buoy and back. The fleet was split fairly evenly, with four Multihulls and five Keelboats taking part. With the summer holidays now coming to an end, we expect to see more boats joining the fleet in the weeks ahead.
An East-Southeasterly breeze greeted the sailors, taking them on a short beat to CAAS2 before sending them on a direct course towards Tekong Buoy. With slack tide and a stable breeze, all teams made light work of the first half of the course, with some boats returning from CAAS2 and completing the final stretch to Squance in a mere 45 minutes.
Multihulls
The Multihulls were led by Miss Visayan, fresh from her triumph at the RSYC Bicentennial Regatta. She was joined by all but one of her regatta companions, with Sirius Swift notably absent from the start line. Dot Dot Dot finished a close second, narrowing the gap to Miss V on the final leg all the way to the finish. Bula completed the podium in third, but was certainly kept on her toes by a feisty Oojoo, who spent much of the race nipping at her stern.
Keelboats – PY Class
Kurt and Gill returned to a platform they are more accustomed to after flirting with a J/24 at the Western Circuit Sailing Regatta last week. Waka Tere breezed through the course, but her lead over Summer Breeze was not enough to hold off the Maxi Fenix 28 on corrected time. Jakub and family took first place comfortably, sailing a safe and consistent race while keeping the leading boats firmly in their sights.
The Jockstars also returned to racing, with Suzanne back at the helm. A refurbished boat and a well-trained team may just have been the winning formula, giving her the edge to successfully fend off some great sailing from Brio and Boreas.
Congratulations to all our winners!
Despite the absence of the Beach Catamaran and IRC Keelboat classes, it was still a healthy turnout overall. We look forward to welcoming more teams back to the course next Saturday for the third race of Twilight Series II.
And following the racing, sailors can look forward to some post-sailing revelry at CSC Members’ Night!
See you all then.
