Changi Sailing Club hosted its Monthly Dinghy Race over the weekend, bringing together a strong turnout of sailors across the Open and Junior categories. With steady winds of 6–8 knots, conditions were ideal for three competitive races that tested skill, strategy, and stamina.

The Open category delivered close racing in the Laser ILCA fleet, with sailors battling for every inch on the course.

• 1st – Ikuto
• 2nd – Misa
• 3rd – Maia

Within the ILCA divisions, competition was equally fierce:

• ILCA 6: 1st – Maia, 2nd – Misa, 3rd – Damien
• ILCA 4: 1st – Ikuto, 2nd – Amandine, 3rd – Lucas

The Optimist fleets showcased the depth of CSC’s junior talent, with sailors from all three squads demonstrating steady progress and determination.

• Alpha Squad: 1st – Charles, 2nd – Sage, 3rd – George
• Bravo Squad: 1st – Tess, 2nd – Asher, 3rd – Mailee
• Charlie Squad: 1st – Neel, 2nd – Sumire, 3rd – Khalisha

The day highlighted not only the competitive spirit of the Open fleet but also the development of our junior sailors, who continue to show promise as they advance through the squads. From the tactical decisions of the Alpha fleet to the enthusiasm of the Charlies, the Optimist sailors demonstrated resilience and growth across the board.

Prize giving was conducted after racing, with awards presented by CSC’s Honorary Secretary, Mr. Andy Willett, who congratulated the sailors on their performances and encouraged them to continue building on their achievements.

The event ran smoothly thanks to the race committee and volunteers, whose efforts ensured fair racing and safety on the water. Parents and members provided strong support onshore, adding to the atmosphere of camaraderie that makes CSC’s racing calendar so special.

Congratulations to all sailors who competed, and thank you for making the September edition a memorable one. We look forward to seeing even bigger fleets and more exciting racing at next month’s Dinghy Race.
